I can't believe it! It has been so long since I posted! Health troubles have kept me busy. I am inspired though to share some of my drawings, so stay tuned...

I just received my first blog award!!!!
Hello!
I am so excited! I have just received the "One Lovely Blog" award from Trudy Callan! She has taught me so much and been a great friend. For those who don't know, her daughter Emily is my sewing teacher! I think we have a great time when we get together and I have learned what I consider to be super valuable info for sewing from both of them. I am so honored to receive this award. It has inspired me to keep creating and blogging frequently.
Coming up next...
I will show you my frog pin cushion and my prep for my elf slippers. I also want to talk about a fantastic bread baking book that I have discovered...

Coming soon...a Mother's Day Pillow Tutorial!
I thought I would share the fabrics and pillow form that I have for an upcoming project for Mother's Day. I made the other pillow in an earlier post for my Mom. Now I am starting one for my Mother-In-Law. These colors and patterns of fabric remind me of her. I will then do another for my Step-Mom. Enjoy!

Is it April already? Goodness! Finished projects! YAY!
These are projects that I have worked on in my sewing class. I am taking sewing lessons. The pillow is for my Mom for Mother's Day (and my first project). It was completely hand sewn. I then started learning hand stitches from a book called "See and Sew". Emily, over at "Super Stitches" is my teacher. After learning all the stitches, I began projects from the book. My first was a drawstring bag, then I sewed a strawberry decorative pot holder, then I made two egg cozies. I can't wait for next week, because I am going to make some "elf-style slippers". I will post those when finished!
Here is the light fixture we worked on. Now the question is to lamp-shade or not. In all, just FYI, this thing of beauty cost $20 for all the ingredients that went into it. I love it!

Whew! Last Post of the Day: Altered Photos!
I am going to try to refurbish a favorite shirt!
I am posting pictures right now of a shirt I love (that developed holes all over the front tummy area). I purchased some fabric to "replace" the area with the holes. I will post photos of my progress as I go. For now, here is a picture of the shirt with the new fabric next to it and a close up of the new fabric. I welcome comments!
